Fanfic Brainstorm: Blood Version

Long ago, the people of the Enjin region lived in harmony with their Pokemon. Between the strong, sturdy Machokes that helped the construction workers, to the Mightyena and Linoone that helped scout out the woods. 

The region was split up into three sections, each protected by walls so tall, it would take several Steelix stacked on top of each other to reach the top. 

The people lived in harmony, but no one ever seemed to venture beyond the third wall very often. Some people believed the Enjin region's tall walls were meant to keep something locked inside, but the reality was it was designed to keep something OUT!

And on the day that became fact, the Enjin region was given a grave reminder that they lived in constant fear of the legendary Pokemon and their servants. 

It started when Zapdos flew over the wall and attacked the--okay fuck it you all know where this is going!

If you want to blame anyone before you run away that I even have this idea blame for saying something along the lines of a Pokemon game with Attack on Titan suspense.


The moment he said that I had this REALLY bad idea. And this IS a bad idea, but not so bad I can't make a brainstorm out of it XD


The idea behind this is that a small clove of legendary Pokemon plague the Enjin region--i.e the three walled areas where AoT takes place--and it's up to our heroes to stop them. 

Rather than give our heroes the usual gear though, each new trainer for the "Pokemon defense corps" has to train a Poochyena, a Zigzagoon or a Lilipup, a Pidgey, a Fletchling or a Starly, and a Machop, a Timburr or a Tyrogue. 

Members of the Military Police, upon graduation of service, are given an Abra or a Ralts
Members of the Survey Corps are given a Treecko, a Turtwig or a Bulbasaur 
and Members of the Garrison are given a Magnemite, a Beldum or an Aron

Any other Pokemon--to make a team of six--have to be captured by the trainers themselves as there are still wild Pokemon even in the "safe regions". 


Before the attack on the wall, Eren, Mikasa and Armin each have a single Pokemon that's a "family" Pokemon. 

Eren has Pikachu (duh)
Mikasa has a Luxray (yeah it's fully evolved. Wrap your head around her parents dying with that thing standing guard. Then again, it could've been in its Pokeball)
and Armin has an Aipom. 


Before his father disappears, he gives eren a Keystone attached to "the key to the basement" as well as a large, bluish-black stone. Eren has no idea what it's for and neither does Mikasa. 

Of course, Mikasa has the largest advantage during training her new Pokemon since Luxray is fully evolved so it can take most of them at once. She has Lilipup, Starly and Tyrogue. She'll later get Treecko.
Eren gets Poochyena--which evolves during training--Pidgey, and Machop. He later picks Bulbasaur.
Armin takes Zigzagoon, Fletchling and Timburr. 

And in case people are curious:
Annie has Machop, Poochyena and Starly. She picks Abra when she joins the Military Police. She rounds out her team with Sneasel and Houndoom, two Pokemon she had before she joined. Her Houndoom can Mega Evolve.

Reiner has Sawk and Throh before joining and picks Timburr, Fletchling and Lilipup. He picks Turtwig when he joins the survey corps.
And Bertolt has no extra Pokemon, but has Treecko, Pidgey, Zigzagoon and Tyrogue. 

Jean will have his dad's Nidorino, Machop, Pidgey, Poochyena, and Bulbasaur as well.



The big twist--since I'm pretty sure AoT is headed in this direction on its own--is that Megastone keystones are powered by human souls and that people can be turned into Pokemon by bonding said souls to said keystones and the necessary evolution stones through the power of Darkrai. 

I should note that I would make a villainous legendary trio 5-bad band:

Mewtwo: Big Bad
Rayquaza: The Dragon (quite literally in this case)
Darkrai: The Evil Genius (and also The Starscream to Mewtwo, though a very cunning one)
Regigigas: The Brute
Moltres: The Dark Chick

Primal Groudon and Kyogre will also be evil, though not part of the 5 bad band and even though Primal Dialga and Palkia don't exist yet, they probably will eventually. That's my guess.

Arceus might also be a Bigger Bad with only Mewtwo aware of his existence.


In short, this means that anyone who was originally a Titan can also transform into a Pokemon and some have the power to Mega Evolve or rather when they transform it IS as a mega evolution.

To wit:

Annie: Mega Blaziken
Reiner: Mega Aggron
Bertolt: Mega Steelix


and, of course, because he's the protagonist:

Eren: Mega CHARIZARD X
because it's incredibly fitting to have Eren be the iconic evolution. 
For the record, Mikasa does eventually find Sceptilite for her Sceptile. 

At this rate, though, letting Eren have Mega Venasaur might be overkill considering he IS Mega Charizard

Oh and Pokemon are bound to actually DIE in battle because it wouldn't be Attack on Titan without pointless deaths now would it?

Furthermore, Levi can Mega Evolve his Pidgeot just because. 

Nevertheless, something like this would certainly be interesting replacing titans and 3D maneuver gear with Pokemon. 
Hell, we could even have it that the reason the legendary Pokemon are even attacking is because the Enjin region is holding some sort of item that is beloved by Arceus and they're trying to get it back. 

On top of that, there would be plans for Articuno to be defeated by Eren as Mega Charizard and it becomes Mikasa's Pokemon since Eren was in no position to throw a ball at it after kicking its ass.
