Fairy Tail 484: Commentary and Speculations

Okay so this chapter gave me quite a lot to think about, though most of it is because I know I'm going to get an ASS number of comments of "What's going to become of Eileen/Irene since you killed Erza's parents in Fairy Without Wings?"

Well, here's the thing, unless Eileen (I'm calling her that until the official translation SAYS it's Irene and Eileen sounds more elegant) is CONFIRMED to be Erza's mom and NOT her sister, I'm in no readily available danger. If anything, Mashima has given me significant leeway by confirming that Eileen is an Ishgar native. 

Strange how one native gets all the respect and the other native (Serena) gets all the hate innit?

Also, Eileen has the moniker of "despair" Ooooh, yeah, REALLY feeling the despair of melting away all that snow into warm, fuzzy spring. 

That said, the folklore Mashima added into this chapter gives me ideas for Morrigan (Note to self: create white angel and black angel)

I also love how Brandish is going to attempt to try and sway August to help them, not realizing that once Erza gets into the picture that Eileen will probably be more willing to help than him.

And with that said, let's talk about that little folklore tale in more detail shall we?

A black and white angel fighting over who is actually stronger.

I mean

It's not like you have two REALLY powerful characters with one wearing white and the other black OH WAIT!

So yeah, Eileen Vs August has been cleverly foreshadowed with all the subtlety of a nuke. The question now remains which one is gonna be on our side. 

Cause just because Erza is related to Eileen doesn't guarantee that Eileen is going to be the friendly supermom/onee-sama we all are probably pulling for. This could go either way. 



Also, whether you snap at it for being pointless fanservice or not, Dimaria lamenting over her situation is rather DARK. It almost seems like she feels like she'd rather be dead than a PoW. 


We also have possibly learned the name of the last of the Spriggan 12: Rahkeid. 


Here's hoping to Mirajane Vs Eileen with Mira outright saying how much she resembles Erza. 

Of course, this is assuming Fairy Tail still manages to win, though that's highly likely given Mashima's track record.

And in other news, Kagura is confirmed bisexual.

I am completely okay with this. Now go have lesbian sex with Erza!
Erza's reaction is pretty priceless though. Like, I don't think that expression has EVER been on Erza's face before.
